María returns to her coastal hometown after finding out that her mother has died. While dealing with all that she must tend to, memories of the complicated, tense relationship with her mother haunt her. In between disorienting moments, María holds on to her mother’s remains while she fights against the prospect of facing an apparently dark, lonely future.
